    Chill the glass
    Set a coupe in the freezer while you build.

    Combine
    Into the small tin: 2 oz gin, 0.5 oz fresh lemon, 0.5 oz maraschino, 0.25 oz crème de violette. Less violette = less floral — lean on maraschino if you want a brighter glass.

    Shake hard
    Cap with the large tin, shake 8–10 seconds.

    Double strain
    Strain through the Hawthorne and a fine-mesh into the chilled coupe. The color should land at soft sky-blue lavender; muddied gray means too much violette.

    Garnish
    Drop a brandied cherry on a pick across the rim.
