    Chill the glass
    Set a coupe in the freezer or fill with cracked ice while you build.

    Combine
    Into the small tin: 2 oz white rum, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup.

    Shake hard
    Add ice, cap with the large tin, shake 8–10 seconds until the tin frosts and the ice rattles like marbles.

    Double strain
    Strain through the Hawthorne and a fine-mesh into the chilled coupe. The pour should be the color of clean linen.

    Garnish
    Float a thin lime wheel on the surface.
