    Chill the glass
    Set a coupe in the freezer or fill with cracked ice while you build.

    Build in the mixing glass
    Add 2 oz rye, 1 oz sweet vermouth, 2 dashes Angostura. Fill with cracked ice.
  3. 03
    Stir to dilute
    Stir 30–40 rotations until very cold and well diluted. Aim for ~20% dilution.

    Strain
    Strain into the chilled coupe.
  5. 05
    Garnish
    Drop a single brandied cherry into the glass — let it sink, no pick.
