    Set the glass
    Drop a single large cube into a rocks glass.

    Build in the mixing glass
    Add 1 oz gin, 1 oz Campari, 1 oz sweet vermouth. Fill with cracked ice.

    Stir gently
    Stir 25–30 rotations. Negronis are forgiving — but over-dilution mutes the bitter edge that makes the drink work.

    Strain over the cube
    The color should hold deep ruby, not faded pink.

    Garnish
    Express an orange peel oil-side down over the surface, then drop it in.
