How to make it

    Chill the glass
    Drop a large cube into a rocks glass and set aside. Stash a coupe of cracked ice nearby.

    Build in the mixing glass
    Add 0.25 oz demerara syrup and 3 dashes of Angostura into a chilled mixing glass.

    Add the spirit
    Pour 2 oz bourbon over the syrup and bitters. Fill the glass two-thirds with cracked ice.

    Stir to dilute
    Stir 30–40 rotations with a bar spoon. Aim for ~20% dilution — cold to the touch, no longer biting.
  5. 05
    Strain & garnish
    Strain over the single large cube. Express an orange peel oil-side down over the surface, twist, and drop it in.
